London Menwith demo flops.


4.7.03. Demo in solidarity with Menwith Hill and Fairford US bases flopped when
only about 8 or 9 people attended, Most of whom stayed for about 20 mins
then left! Two people stayed (One had come from Bristol hoping for a much
bigger turn out) Only others were a young anti-war Aussie couple who just
happened to be passing.
So WHERE WAS EVERYONE???

i had heard it was going to be during the day
and cannot escape from work for love or money.
went by the us embassy after work expecting to
find lots going on- not a soul.

There were between 40 and 50 demonstrators at Fairford, many in ball dresses/black tie - where were you? See Oxford.indymedia for loads of excellent pics.
