MP Accountability: Shaun Woodward - New Labour - St Helens Sth

An open letter to Shaun Woodward, New Labour MP for St Helens Sth. In which I examine his actual parliamentary record (support for Iraq War, Tuition Fees, Foundation Hospitals and ID cards), how he (mis)represents his electorate, ask some awkward questions and urge change.
Go to www.PowerToThePeople.org.uk research your MP, name & shame and contact them for an explanation. With the General Election looming, publishing their actual (and most probably poor) record could have a real impact. Hold 'Em To Account!! Read more >>

Update (Iraq)

At present, the whole world stands in "shock and awe" of the ineptitude of the US military and the whole debacle that is the Iraq intervention. Every military cadet is taught the strategies of all the great military battles of history. Napoleon, who brought the greatest ‘military machine’ (of the period) to bear on Russia was defeated by an enemy that would not capitulate – an enemy that deployed guerilla tactics and drew the world’s most powerful army into a quagmire (from which it could not recover.) The imperialism of Bonaparte was crushed soon after. Read more >>

WAR, CAPITALISM & ELECTIONS: An Interview w STEPHEN GOWANS – Canadian Essayist

Read ANGIE's – regular and erudite Indybay-IMC (Indybay.org) Poster fm Canada – incisive interview with Canadian political essayist STEPHEN GOWANS. Angie has scored a previous interview with Israeli pro-Palestinian human rights activist Ran Ha Cohen. We await similar interviews with Uri Avnery and others who speak directly to issues of global justice – as well as global resistance to imperialist racism and the elite capitalists' rapaciousness that will gamble ALL our lives. We, finally, are at an especially critical world cross-roads: we can choose illumination or illusion, enlightenment or inconsequence, mutual respect or profligate death. Read more >>

Who's counting the dead in Fallujah? CARE?

The killing of 100,000 innocent men, women and children in Iraq to date should be enough for others who CARE. People not sure of the legality, validity and rational for their killing should understand the alleged demon Saddam Hussain wasn't worth the sacrifice of those innocent people. Does anyone CARE about this dead baby? Read more >>

Open Letter to my Grandfather

REVOLUTION
by James F. Harrington - Socialist Workers Party Thursday

How Erin's Son's Have Been Used By the Capitalists

Open letter to my grandfather, Austin A. O’Malley, who I never really got to know, as he died when I was only four years old. He came over to the United States from his native country, Ireland around 1889, as a little boy of eleven years.

Like many other Irishmen from Louisburg, County Mayo, he settled in Clinton, Massachusetts.
I know that he worked there for a baker for awhile untill the Spanish American War broke out.

I also know that he was in and out of the Veteran’s Hospital all through his life. I also know that he liked to drink at bars in South Boston, sometimes with his dog beside him.

500,000 Iraqis may be in mass graves

So the choice the people of the US have this election seems to be clear on a two party preferred basis they either choose?

John Kerry "a bird in the hand is worth two in the Bush" or

George Dubya "killing two birds with one Saddam"

Simple choice really!
