how i abused my Rights as a parent of a child at a local high school

I have been a specialist instrumental teacher who has worked in many schools for over fourteen years, including ten years in a prison where I taught illegal immigrants.

My daughter is in her last year at a local high school, where I have also been working part-time for fourteen years.

The higher management at this school has banned me (as a parent) from the premises and banned me from speaking to any staff at the school, however I am currently allowed to continue to teach there. I have been banned because I attempted to enforce my Rights by informing the school management team to stop taking personal and private information from my daughter during Learning for Life lessons, whereby she was eventually sanctioned for “Refusal”, while my requests went ignored.

In 2014, a representative of the British Government outlined British Values for all UK schools, he said "freedom, tolerance, respect for the rule of law, belief in personal and social responsibility and respect for British institutions" should be part of the curriculum.

Recently, UK schools have been going through many changes, including the implementation of the above quoted policy. These policies have allowed rules in schools to be enhanced to the point of stupidity.

In this book, I write about how I abused my Rights as a parent, relating this to my experiences from other schools, which include anecdotes of where I have witnessed students’ Rights being abused. I explain from my perspective, how these current changes in schools, which include further stripping of the Rights of children, are taking shape.

______________
copy of the letter that I sent to the manager of the school which is featured in the preface of the book....

"Dear Mr [...], I recognise now that I was wrong to think that I had any right to defend my daughter’s rights and beliefs, I feel that I owe you an apology and will give an explanation as to why I now can see my error.

My belief was that the complete disrespect of human rights and privacy by professionals who teach children was at least not for another ten to twenty years time, because of you, Mrs [...], Mr [...]and other staff member’s actions and treatment towards myself and my daughter has showed that I was wrong and through your actions have taught me that I am Now Today living during a time where a school supported by law and policy Has the authority over a student and a parent to enforce any teaching method and subject it chooses disregarding required consent or complaint.

I see now that I have to allow you to take whatever personal and private information that you require from my daughter and that you have full right to punish her when she disobeys your orders.

She will be back at school after her absence due to emotional stress, being obedient and willing to take any order from you and your staff even if she disagrees.

I apologise for abusing my role of parent and daring to think I still had rights as a parent to defend my daughter, sorry as I was wrong, I will now be embracing “The [...] Way” with full cooperation and without complaint. I have reformed and I thank you for helping me get there.

I will allow this open letter to go on public record including on social networks and will be the preface to my next book ‘how I abused my Rights as a parent of a child at a local high school"

this letter is not based on sarcasm but expresses the reality of the events that the book illustrates
