The Antifascist Argument for Brexit

Antifa Nottingham | 19.05.2016 14:46

The trend of the far-right and Neo Nazis in Europe is worrying for all. the French NF, Jobbik, AFD, Golden Dawn all hold seats in the European Parliament.

We are part of a bloc where the Neo-Nazi and right-wing groups are steadily growing in popularity and gaining seats in national parliaments and the European Parliament and it's a trend that continues to grow. Golden Dawn, NF, NPD, AFD, Jobbik.... all Neo Nazi and Far-Right groups with seats in the European Parliament and who can all use their voices on said parliament to directly influence UK law.

If the trend and the rise of the far-right in Europe continues, how many seats are these horrible groups going to soon end up with? Already they have an influence on issues. Already they have many voices in the European Parliament. We've fought a war to beat fascism and anti-fascist activists continue to take the fight to the fascists in the present day. Across Europe however, it can not be denied that support for fascism and support for the far-right is growing. As is their influence.

Do you really want to be associated with a bloc that has these parties holding positions of power and influence?

Because I certainly don't. Britain needs to distance themselves from Europe and it's worrying trend of far-right popularity as soon as possible. This is, in my opinion one of the strongest arguments for Brexit. We can vote all the Liberal and Left-Wing groups we like to stand for us in the European Parliament but that is all for nothing if Greece and Germany can elect their own Neo-Nazi groups and, continue to do so in growing numbers.

I personally believe the best way to stop said groups from having an influence in the multi-cultural society that is Britain is to leave Europe and distance ourselves from them.
