More blaming the migrants.

The German official responsible for investigating the attacks on women in Cologne on New Year's Eve says the suspects were "almost exclusively" those with a migration background, mainly North African and Arab.

Ralf Jaeger says that recent arrivals in Germany were among the suspects.

He accused Cologne police of making "serious mistakes". More than 500 criminal complaints have been filed - 40% alleging sexual assault - relating to 31 December. The scale of the assaults on women in Cologne and other German cities has shocked Germany.

Mr Jaeger, the state interior minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, is himself under political pressure. On Friday he fired Cologne's police chief Wolfgang Albers. Addressing a committee of state MPs on Monday, Mr Jaeger criticised the police for not calling for reinforcements on the night, and also for the way they informed the public about the investigation in the days after the events.

His report detailed how a group of around 1,000 men of North African and Arabic origin gathered in the area around Cologne's cathedral and main station in the evening of 31 December. From this large group, smaller groups of men formed, who then surrounded women and threatened and attacked them, he said.

These smaller groups were predominately made up of North African men who had travelled to Cologne from different cities. The suspects included asylum seekers who had arrived in the past year, he said. Around 1.1 million asylum seekers arrived in Germany in 2015.

There was however no mention of the role that drunken, provocatively dressed women played in the events of New Year's eve in the city. Young men fleeing war and traumatized by their travels were confronted by women dressed in a way that they would not be familiar with outside of brothels.

The women themselves and their menfolk must accept some of the responsibility.

I fully agree with you. The Right Wing European media has done all it can to demonize and blame the migrants for the problems of New Year's Eve and has had not one word of condemnation for those women who went out dressed like whores and paraded themselves in front of young men and expected no consequences.

Why does the German population, and indeed the wider European population expect the migrants to be the ones to make all the changes in their lives? Where is the welcome, where is the inclusiveness, where is the respect for Islam and those who live their lives by its holy teachings ?

Europe needs to understand the growth of Islam and how one day it will be the only faith in the world because this is God's will and to His will we submit. Germany can be an example is preparing for this wonderful transformation that will come to all of the world by preparing and educating its women to show modesty and self restraint.

No excuses to be allowed.

No one has the right to attack / abuse others.

It does not matter that they were 'drunken, provocatively dressed women'. That is their right. It's the migrants who have to change - no excuses.

Women's rights

Women who go out onto the streets dressed in next to nothing must not be surprised if they attract the attention of men. Walking around in front of recent arrivals to Europe who are not used to the Western standards of dress is asking for trouble.

No excuses. no justifications.

Do not try to justify attacking /abusing anyone because of what they are wearing. You're wrong & if you still think it is the right thing to do then go live somewhere where it is acceptable. In my, and the majority, opinion it is not acceptable behaviour anywhere. If your religion says it is acceptable then your religion is wrong. No ifs, No buts, you are wrong.
