The Autonoom Centrum migrant centre in Calais that we opened in August last year is to close following a number of thefts of equipment and attacks on volunteers.
In August of last year we opened a centre near the Jungles camp to provide help for asylum seekers and to provide advice before their journey to England.
We are sorry to everyone but we have had to close the centre down. We have had three laptops, six mobile phones, and many big items of clothing stolen and in recent weeks two of our women volunteers have been the victims of sexual assaults.
