AN OPEN LETTER TO THE AUSTRALIAN PEOPLE

Dear Australian Parliament,

The ABC "Religion and Ethics" are inciting hatred against transgender persons:

The article incites intolerance, promotes hatred, misrepresents transgender persons, and gives public voice to those who want to intimidate and harm transgender persons. The ABC has become an unsafe place for already marginalised and vulnerable Australian persons who through no fault are born with physical challenges, the wrong body.

At least one post was live for about a day that questioned the right of transgender persons to exist, and that the ABC would allow this and other misinformed and highly offensive hate inciting words public expression is the reason you have been contacted.

The damage is being done and intolerance and hate is being promoted.

At the center of all this hatred is Germaine Greer, and then in concentric circles are others who choose to hate, such as:

"Caroline Norma is a lecturer in the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies at RMIT University, and a member of Amnesty Australia."

Caroline Norma is using her privileged position to incite hatred and intolerance against already highly vulnerable and disadvantaged persons.

Germaine Greer is inciting hatred in Britain too, Cardiff University:

Both Greer and Norma claim to be feminists, supporting womyn.

I am femyl, I am a feminist, I am a lesbian, and I identify as being transgender. Greer and Norma are just choosing hate, and I reject being the subject of their hatred and I ask for your intervention.

Transgender persons are misrepresented, here are some brief facts:

"Transgender, what it means

1. Being transgender is NOT a psychiatric/mental health issue.
2. Being transgender is NOT a sexual condition.
3. Being transgender is NOTHING to do with sexual orientation.
4. Being transgender IS A PHYSICAL problem.
5. A transgender person determining medical support and care, Informed Consent Model, is ESSENTIAL."

The ABC "Religion and Ethics" are acting against a part of Australian society that cannot defend itself. It is truly shameful.

In the interest of protecting transgender persons from hate and harm, please intervene to stop such abuses now and in the future.
