Greg Avery charged with new offences

Friend of all animals | 01.10.2015 10:21 | SHAC

Today in a piece of vindictive revenge political prisoner Greg Avery has been charged with six new offences of criminal conspiracy.

Greg is currently serving a nine-year jail sentence after his 2008 conviction on political grounds in connection with the SHAC campaign and now the PPS have charged him with new offences two months before his parole hearing meaning that he will likely serve his full nine years and may well be in jail for a further eight years if found guilty of these new charges.

This is no more than police oppression of a man that challenged the power of the British state.

Unfair

This is a process called "delayed process application" whereby the plod keep back further charges and fail to inform the defence team so they can be pulled out in the future to ensure an extension of the jail time. It's fundamentaly unfair and is banned in countries like France.
