DSEI - a time for reflection and realism

Sue | 20.09.2015 08:01

Reading some reports and looking at the website of Stop The Arms Fair a casual observer might believe there was widespread disruption to this year's DSEI arms fair.
The reality is very different and it's time to analyze what has happened this year and learn from it.

The only real success of the various actions was on the Saturday before when we managed to delay some trucks for a short while. Other actions had no effect whatsoever. On the majority of days there was no more than ten of us at the time when the arms dealers were arriving, on Thursday evening there was two of us !

The key to all of the failure is simple, the lack of people attending to protest. Numbers have been in decline for successive DSEI events and this year was the worst ever.

My question to everyone reading this is a simple one -

WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU ?
