The accusations currently posted to Northern Indymedia that one of our collective is a police informer, and that IP addresses have been passed to the police by members of this collective are both untrue and offensive.

Northern Indymedia appears to be a worthless site which cannot even be bothered to moderate itself.

Some troll calling itself JimDog has been spamming our wire with the same lies.

If anyone has any questions, they are welcome to contact the UK Indymedia collective at the usual email addresses.

That the poster is "one of Indy UK"
That the Indy UK newswire has closed
That Indy UK stores IP addresses
That Indy UK used those addresses to grass-out SHAC members

Note that Indy Northern runs on a CMS called Hyperactive, which definitely *does* store IPs, and cannot be prevented from doing so! Talk about hypocrisy.

Could it be that Jimpup's unsubstantiated “grass” whispers stem from spending too much time pissing up the wrong trees listening to rumours or mis-guided self-serving attention seeking or just simply, an agent prov? I was just looking over the email list archive. I thought it was shut down a while back? Yeah, lots of shit to say but it won't help. This article seems to be more about attacking and undermining current activist activities elsewhere. As always, folk should talk it out and raise it directly with the individuals involved.

I've always thought a northern indymedia was wrong. Like calling London and Brighton southern indymedia. I know you realise the insult and it's up to you if you want to make things right. Personally I think it might not matter too much right now but that can change and quickly as the working class reforms and keeps on kicking through this capitalist nightmare...
