Manchester radical book fair and workshops, all welcome

A group unhappy with the gentrification of Manchester and the decline in people who are awkward to the status quo have got together to start the first of what we hope will be an annual event.

The Manchester Awkward Squad will be hosting a free radical book fair and a selection of workshops on Saturday 2nd of May at the People's History Museum (location details below) together with stalls offering veggie and vegan food all for FREE !

The workshops will be covering..

Bike maintenance
Opening and running a free shop
Copyleft software
Sign making
Making clothes
Web design
Creative Writing
Dance for all
Radical poetry and chanting

The bookfair is a chance for you to expand your library, donate books to others and share your views of radical writing in all languages.

Doors open at 1030am and close when we all go home !




Location details
The Museum is on the left bank of the River Irwell, in Manchester city centre.


Rail station – Salford Central (2 mins walk)
Metrolink station – St Peter’s Square (10 mins walk)
Bus stop (1, 8, 12, 26, 27, 31, 32, 36, 37, 71, 73, X34) – Bridge Street (2 mins walk)
Metroshuttle stop – Bridge Street (no 1) and Gartside Street (no 3) (2 mins walk)
Car park – Bridge Street/King Street West/New Bailey Street/New Quay Street (2-5 mins walk)
Parking for disabled drivers in car parks – Blue Badge holders can park free of charge in all NCP Manchester pay and display surface car parks when a valid Blue Badge is displayed in the vehicle
