Eviction order granted

20.11.2014 16:22

At the High Court in Manchester today, Judge David Hodge granted an eviction order (to come into effect 11:59pm Friday 21st November). The claimants - ostensibly the farmer and his son but almost certainly organised and paid for by IGas - were represented by Tom Roscoe. The defendants were unrepresented with Julie Ray acting as McKenzie friend and allowed to present the defendants' arguments for the case to be thrown out, for an adjournment and for it to be heard in Wales (all of which were refused).

This was the same judge and same representation for the claimant as the recent Cuadrilla injunction in relation to fracking sites in Lancashire. See:  http://stopfyldefracking.org.uk/latest-news/cuadrilla-injunction-granted-judge-describes-costs-as-considerable-asks-for-further-scruting/

Costs against the defendants were NOT awarded by the judge, because of the delay in the claimants serving the notice, giving defendants less than three days to prepare their case.

Frack Free Wrexham meeting tonight, Thursday, 7pm at the Cunliffe Arms, Jeffreys Rd, Borras.

Please keep supporting the camp.

Photos to follow.
