Jeremy Clarkson has an audience of 350 million worldwide, according to the latest figures from the BBC. An international media agency reckons Top Gear, the TV programme with which he’s synonymous, is the world’s biggest show fronted by a journalist-presenter; possibly the most watched show on the planet.
In the UK in 2009-14, 83% of the population – 50 million people – watched Top Gear.
It’s Britain’s biggest TV export. It’s screened in 170 countries. More people watch Jeremy than Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jon Stewart or Piers Morgan.
As a comparison a Panaroma detailing child poverty in major UK cities recently drew an audience of 3% of the UK population !

i know what you mean. it isn't just the UK tho, its all of humanity. there is not really much humanity in humanity, if that makes sense. ever been to india? You see the poorest people in the world, and then you meet some of the richest, and the richest really don't care at all about the poverty. not everyone is moved by human suffering. I dont know why either.
but, as the manics asked- from despair to where?
