Eamon O'Brien | 09.07.2014 15:41 | Other Press | World

My name is Eamon O'Brien and I am chairperson of the Croke Park Community & Handball Centre alongside the Croke Park Streets Committees Association Ltd . Both of these organizations were an integral part of the opposition towards the playing of five consecutive concerts in Croke Park during the summer months.

All five Garth Brooks concerts to go ahead as planned

I can confirm that a meeting occurred between myself, solicitor Anthony Fay, representatives of the GAA, Dublin City Council Manager Mr Owen Keegan, a representative from Garth Brook's tour management and Mr Peter Aiken (of Aiken Promotions)

As a result of this meeting a unanimous decision was made that each of the five concerts will go ahead as originally planned.

The GAA have assured representatives of Croke Park Community & Handball Centre (in writing and in front of legal representation) that it will provide the centre will an alternative home should the GAA decide to demolish the building. They have also assured us that legal proceedings against against the organizations members will come to an immediate halt.

Slán agus beannacht mo chairde!
