The women felt cheated because he had a good job!

So the women felt cheated because he had a good well paid job and was not a dole scrounging layabout protester like all the rest of the guys in the protest movement. The parents of these women will be scratching their heads and saying to themselves, "we would much rather you dated decent men like those you are complaining about with good jobs rather than these useless protesters".

The police should be able to lie to anyone, especially the courts as they are doing a great job for the queen and country and should be roundly respected for this.

All police are special and if they (in the line of duty) seduce women into long term relationships, have bastards with them (should not have to pay maintenance either and the children like the relationships should be disposed of at the conclusion of the investigation)

I mean the police have been beating and murdering for over a 100 years so what's a little rape matter when there is a need to infiltrate the obviously criminal gangs that these women associate with.

Don't defend the undefensable.

These women are embarking on a court case which has at its very core the concept that a man lied to woman to get her to sleep with him. If we are really going to go down that idea as a real 'crime' then I would suggest the birth rate is going to fall in this country by a considerable amount !

These women are not victims any more than I was a 'victim' of the man who told me he was single to get me to agree to dinner. Life is tough, people lie to get sex. Grow up and move on.

Yes it is me, the one asking the difficult question that nobody at the heart of this 'campaign' wants to deal with. The women involved entered freely into sexual relationships with the undercover cops. At least one of them also at the same time entered into another sexual relationship with an individual who was not a cop but also lied to her about what he did for a living. Is she suing him as well ? Of course not.

The core of this argument is obvious

Do men lie to women to get them into bed - yes
Should they be prosecuted for doing that - no
Do sensible women take what men say at these times with a pinch of salt - of course
Should this case continue - of course not

I get what you are saying here but once people start admitting the elephant in the room there is not really much of a case left. Already one of the women that was first involved has dropped out and another is back with the cop she first had a baby with which has been somewhat embarrising for the others involved because they were claiming the women were in some way traumatised by the experience (clearly not).

I feel sorry for the women involved, they were most certainly lied to, in some cases for many years but the idea that these circumstances are best dealt with via the courts is not the right route.
