NEW PODCAST!!!- feed://www.outfarpress.com/podcast.xml (128kb Highest Quality)

This week's show features stories from NHK World Radio Japan, Radio Havana Cuba, Spanish National Radio, and the Voice of Russia.
From JAPAN- Memorials were held across Japan on Tuesday, the 3rd anniversary of the start of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. Preliminary estimates for dealing with the Fukushima nuclear plant will exceed $107 billion, but this doesn't include costs for containing the radioactive waste. Lawsuits against the government and Tepco, the Fukushima power plant operator, are rapidly increasing. Japanese PM Abe has suggested that his government will maintain the use of nuclear energy. A survey by NHK found that 80% of Japan favors scrapping all or some of the nuclear power plants. Anti-nuclear protestors held rallies in 18 locations in the US, which has 100 nuclear power plants. There was a large demonstration in front of the oldest French nuclear power plant, with protestors demanding an immediate shutdown.
From CUBA- Venezuelan President Maduro strongly criticized US VP Biden for making incendiary claims that the government was using armed vigilantes against protestors. Michelle Bachelet was reelected to the Presidency of Chile, and said she would strive for more unity in Latin America and the Caribbean, particularly with Venezuela.
From SPAIN- In El Salvador, a former guerrilla leader Sanchez Ceren has been declared winner in the Presidential election, though the right-wing contender will not accept defeat. Tuesday was the 10th anniversary of the Madrid train bombing which killed 191 and wounded 2000. The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed outrage over lawlessness in eastern Ukraine, while the EU prepares sanctions against Russians. Ukraine's interim leaders have established a new national guard and asked the US and Britain for assistance.
From RUSSIA- Michel Chossudovsky is a professor of economics at the University of Ottawa and an adviser to developing nations. He speaks about the dynamics of the fast changing face of Ukraine and why the US, the EU, and Russia are willing to be involved in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation.

I was interviewed for an informative weekly radio show Mediageek, available at  http://radio.mediageek.net

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
TIME SLOT on KZYX! This program will be aired on Sunday afternoon at 4pm (PST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via

I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)
