There are other methods proven to work repeatedly plus oppostion includes people who arent exactly angels.Like the situ in ukraine its v geopolitical, with russia having naval based in syria ętc .
I pray all sides can take a step back& say "what arewe doing?
For the sake of syrias children make peace."
There definetely does need to be a fair stromger universal international truer peace force that helps if things get this bad&, the UN as it is could go better by cooperative constitutional direct democracy. With a fair constitution like the magna carta, switzerlands& the medina constitution,.

Abe

I hope this march fails miserably

This is propaganda for western backed insurgents, terrorists and jihadists armed by Saudi Arabian and Quatari governments. I hope the Assad government crushes them all.

The uprising in Syria was a popular uprising to demand democracy when it started 3 years ago. Stop believing conspiracy crap about it all being a CIA plot! There were no jihadists in the movement for democracy in Syria three years ago, the jihadists came much later and if western countries had helped us out three years ago then the jihadists would never have had a chance.

I see Mick Mack is one of those people on the relativist left who is happy for a government to kill its own people as long as the government is anti-Western. I doubt he'd have the courage to debate with any anti-Assad Syrians in person.

You can oppose the actions of those rebels who are extremists while supporting those who oppose the Syrian government's killing of their own people.

"I see Mick Mack is one of those people on the relativist left who is happy for a government to kill its own people as long as the government is anti-Western. I doubt he'd have the courage to debate with any anti-Assad Syrians in person."

Take a look around the place and you will see that there is quite a campaign of "leftist" hatred going on. Its very common at the moment. Syria is not about "left" or "right", its about extremism and terrorism.

Bashar al'Assad is deemed to be a tyrant and many reasons have been given to justify this, but it again boils down to what he represents. He is the leading Ba'ath party figure in Syria and yes, you've guessed it, the Ba'ath party is deemed by some to be "leftist".

Saddam Husseign was also a Ba'athist and Kaddafi also a supporter. The Muslim brotherhood in Egypt also supported the Ba'ath in principle.

So is this all about "tyrants and dictators"?

Not really, that's just something that some people like to say. This is a political fight in which some entity is on the march having declared war against political Socialism all around the world.

Sorry, but there are no prizes for guessing what entity this is.

If you criticise it, you are immediately accused of being a "leftist". Who you actually are and what you are actually about may as well be invisible.

Its as blind as a bat.

But now the tide is in and the emperor has no clothes. Seeing its predicament, this entity is now looking for every opportunity to see in others, what others see in it.

Did you know...that Russia is an Empire?

Who knew!

No Edward, I'm afraid that's too much of a tangle.

Knots are made for undoing, not tightening.

"western countries had helped us out three years ago then the jihadists would never have had a chance."

On the contrary, "western" intervention would equally have guaranteed their presence, and certainly in higher numbers.
