Dirtier and dirtier. The War on truth

The Other Emergency | 04.02.2014 12:08

Is this the start of the Tory Dirty War for the next election

Grant Shapps is heralding Falkirk as some sort of Trade Union Conspiracy. While the Police found no charges could be made, Shapps is talking up allegations of criminal acts (such as forging Direct Debit Mandates) for which he has no evidence. If he did, prosecutions would take place. No doubt. It would embarass the Left. But there have been no offences of the kind hinted at by Shapps.

The point for anybody outside of Conservative Central Office is this: we are all fair game for the Lynton Crosby machine now. There is a year to the election and there will be a constant drip, drip, drip of antidemocratic nonsense.

Forget about your own particular interest for one moment. Think about this question: just how long will you survive under a second term of an increasingly authoritarian, thuggish, disconnected government? Even Hitler and Stalin were elected.

It is not about having an argument on the left. It is very much about assessing realistic chances of survival. For some people this means avoiding death. For others it means keeping hold of a crappy job. For others it is about retaining their difficult grasp on health.

The truth is that the next year will be about divide and rule. The lies, disinformation and media manipulation is just about to crank up.

What is "Falkirk"? What is the background info?

You've written this opinion piece with the assumption that everyone knows what you're on about already.

Yes, I know I could probably find out with a search engine, but that's not the point; it's reasonable to expect any decent article to at least include enough background for the average person to know what it's about.

The implication of the graphic is that Grant Shapp is leaking Labour internal Report(s). The conclusion is that everyone outside the Right is fair game for the Lynton Crosby Election Machine.

1) Lynton Crosby advises the Tories.
2) There is a General Election in about a year.
3) Everybody is "fair game" for smearing.

So the article is short and to the point. Calling it an "opinion piece" kind of detracts from the analysis: we are all in the crosshairs in the Tory's attempts to cling onto power. And it will get dirtier and dirtier.

As to using search engines. I recommend reading the BBC critically. Or the Daily Mail, again, critically. The transparency of dissembling is shameless. Now, of course, I should not be reading the Daily Mail (them being class enemies and all) but the truth is that lots of Voters do read the Daily Mail. Then I should probably not be voting (it encourages the Statists) but lots of people will.

And next year, when the Tories are back in power. Then the real cull of the left will be ramped right up. It might well be an opinion - but do you really want to see it happen?

The article is short and to the point and does not mess about giving deeply analytical background information. Which is exactly the same as the mainstream media. The mainstream media is delivering the drip drip drip of the Tory tap. What are you delivering?
