Met Police stoop to using violence against women!
Fuck the Gestapo | 22.01.2014 02:13 | Anti-racism | Policing
On 1 June 2013, over 1,000 supporters of Unite Against Fascism, the Anti-Fascist Network, and much larger numbers of completely un-aligned members of the public, gathered in London's Whitehall and Parliament Square to oppose the closet Nazis of the BNP in their plan to desecrate the Cenotaph in Whitehall. Using what were in effect classic tactics of Gandhian non-violent resistance, Anti-Fascists linked arms to block one corner of Parliament Square, to successfully prevent the BNP taking the piss out of British war-dead at the Cenotaph in Whitehall. Wise to the fact that they probably couldn't bludgeon Anti-Fascists over the head with batons without their own faces being photographed, Met Police officers resorted to the much less conspicuous tactic of viciously booting Anti-Fascists in the shins instead, crippling teacher Amy Jowett in the process...
Not content with lying through their teeth about the police murders of Jean-Charles de Menezes and Ian Tomlinson, among many others, and not content with nearly killing, then trying to falsely prosecute and victimize student protestors such as Alfie Meadows, on the 1st of June 2013, London's Metropolitan Police stooped to the level of using.... violence against women... in their never-ending campaign to surpress protests against Nazism and against the austerity measures imposed by the UK's unelected and unrepresentative minority Coalition government.
On the 1st of June 2013, over 1,000 supporters of Unite Against Fascism, the Anti-Fascist Network, and much larger numbers of completely un-aligned members of the public (including at least one Chelsea Pensioner), gathered in London's Whitehall and nearby Parliament Square to oppose the closet Nazis of the British National Party in their plan to desecrate the Cenotaph war-memorial in Whitehall. Using what were in effect classic tactics of Gandhian non-violent resistance, Anti-Fascists linked arms to block one corner of Parliament Square, to successfully prevent the BNP taking the piss out of British war-dead at the Cenotaph in Whitehall.
The police wasted no time in lecturing (to use their terms "warning") peaceful counter-protestors about the provisions of the Public Order Act, oblivious to the fact that the first Public Order Act was passed to PREVENT the direct forerunners of the BNP - Oswald Mosley's Blackshirts, the British Union of Fascists - from marching in London. Then, wise to the fact that they probably couldn't bludgeon Anti-Fascists over the head with batons without their own faces being photographed, Met Police officers resorted to the much less conspicuous tactic of viciously booting Anti-Fascists in the shins instead, crippling teacher Amy Jowett in the process.
As just one illustration of the issues underlying the 1st June 2013 anti-BNP counter-protest, quite apart from being latter-day Blackshirts, as shown in the photo, the BNP also flew the flag of sectarian bigots and mass-murderers the Ulster Volunteer Force at the BNP meeting-point near Parliament Square. In the UVF's 30-year career of terrorist butchery, the UVF killed over 480 people, more than two-thirds of whom were innocent civilians. Of course people with evidence relating to police violence should come forward, but police appeals for witnesses to police violence should be viewed with considerable scepticism. If you have evidence, go to the "quality" newspapers, not to the cops - the cops and IPCC are totally corrupt and they're liars and killers (see below*).

"Police are calling for witnesses to come forward as they investigate claims that a Met officer broke a teacher's leg during a rally against the British National Party in Parliament Square. English tutor Amy Jowett alleges that an officer kicked her three times below the knee with such force, it has left her facing "a lifetime of surgery". She has already had three operations. But she said no officer has yet been identified in relation to her allegation that she was attacked at the Unite Against Fascism protest on June 1 last year. Ms Jowett, of Hackney, added: "The officer who assaulted me has disabled and disfigured me. I struggle to walk round the corner to catch a bus and don't know how it will affect my job. It is unlikely that I will ever get full mobility back to my leg".... Scotland Yard said it was taking the allegations "extremely seriously". Investigators supervised by the Independent Police Complaints Commission have interviewed several officers. Ms Jowett, 35, appealed to people who have camera footage of the demonstration. She said she had been left deep emotional scars: "This is the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I cry a lot. I’ve had counselling." A Met spokesman said: "The Directorate of Professional Standards is appealing for people who were at the demonstration to contact them. At the time the injury was received efforts were being made to move demonstrators. Warnings were issued and the crowd was surging." Anyone with information should email nicola.jenkins@met.police.uk" (*see above)

why the title?

why does it being done to a woman make it so much worse?!
why did you feel it was worth sticking the last two words -"against women"- on the end?
and if you're going to rehash an article from the mainstream media, and remain usefully critical of the police's call for evidence, why not contact amy/ her supporters first, and find out where the best place would be for other antifa to send any helpful evidence? you really trust the "quality papers" more than eg amy's lawyers/ legal support?
thinking before acting -always good

To Titles - I also think that there is no need to be so agressive, and, with respect, I didn't find your article very ligical - more confusing than anything.
