Tactical suggestions for ULU on Wednesday

Shove cameras in the cops faces, and shout out to the police that they're being filmed, at every available opportunity. We need to make sure the police know that as soon as they assault anyone the photos we take of their crimes will wreck their careers and haunt them for the rest of their lives. If the police attack anyone then concentrate of filming the ID numbers on the cops' shoulders and also the cops' faces, so their faces and ID numbers can be cross-referenced. Publish your photos on Indymedia QUICKLY, but when you do make certain you blur all demonstrators' faces. As happened with officers Giles Dainty - see below * - and Simon Harwood **, in some cases these people can be identified months later.
Countless protestors have failed to notice police kettles forming-up behind them, then not noticed opportunities to escape police kettles, because they were hypnotized by the sounds and action taking place in front of them. It is critical to continually monitor what is happening BEHIND you, and if you see cops moving into line or approaching from a distance then... don't be shy... shout out and warn everyone, LOUDLY. To defeat police containment - stay alert, keep mobile, stay behind rather than in front of police lines, and spread-out enough to avoid forming an easily-kettled block. A tight group of protestors is easy for the police to surround, "herding cats" is virtually impossible!
Never go into a confined area, indoors or outdoors, unless you're confident you can definitely reach a viable exit.
If the cops demand your name and address you don't have to tell them. Ask "do you have any legal power to arrest me if I don't provide that information", note the cop's shoulder number carefully, walk away and then write down the shoulder number.
If you get to the demo area early use the time to recce and to familiarise yourself with the surrounding area.
Undercover cops WILL dress as protestors to gather information, make arrests and create pretexts for police "retaliation", so beware of agent-provocateurs. If you see anyone behaving like a prick stop them - especially people throwing missiles that could land on innocent people. If you see anyone you're sure is an undercover then warn people loudly. If you see anyone you think might be undercover, but you're not sure, at least shout-out "UNDERCOVER" to make them hopefully lose their nerve and piss-off. Have a look at some of the Gestapo mug-shots here...

If coppers are nearby use other names for each other rather than real names, a simple 'oi' will suffice if practical.
Stay safe!
Have a good one!
