More people are withholding Council Tax.  Join in the anti-austerity campaign.

People not paying Council Tax is on the rise.  In Nottingham city alone by the end of November approximately 20,000 out of a total of 129,376 Council Tax accounts were in arrears, around one sixth of people liable.  Nottingham City Council had started legal action against 13,558 people.  The same pattern is apparent across the country.

Some people are withholding the unjust Bedroom Tax while others, suffering significant reductions in real income, simply cannot afford to pay up.  Some people are refusing to pay as a protest against the austerity cuts in public services.  This is the way to hit back at the Coalition Government's war on the poor.  Starve these public school parasites and their lackeys on local councils - such as Labour-controlled Nottingham City Council - of MONEY.  This is the language these exploiters understand.

Deputy Leader of Nottingham City Council, Graham Chapman, has admitted that it will be very expensive for the Council to try to retrieve small amounts of money.  This will further exacerbate NCC's financial problems.  So why do they do it?  Leading members of Nottingham City Council, such as Dave Trimble, have openly proclaimed that they will do nothing to jeopordise their positions as councillors.  This is because they are there for the money; their generous allowances, business opportunities, etc.  They don't care how many poor people are harassed and sent to jail as long as they hang on to their substantial incomes from the Council.

How can we hit back at these enemies of the people?  Anti-Bedroom Tax campaigns, such as that in the Nottingham area, are ineffective.  All that they are doing is petitioning rotten councils not to evict Council Tax defaulters from council homes.  These campaigns are not even telling people not to pay up the Bedroom Tax surcharge. No, what all decent people should do is to take a stand with the poorest members of this society by "refusing to pay your Council Tax".  This is how we can really hit back at the ruling class and their Labour lackeys.

Over twenty years ago, when the Tory Government brought in the unjust Poll Tax, millions of people revolted against it by refusing to pay up.  (Of course, Labour said  'Pay up'.) The Government had to back down. We can do it again.  Don't make feeble excuses for refusing to pay Council Tax.  People can always find bad reasons for not doing good things.
