BAE Systems - some good news for once
Disarm DSEI | 06.11.2013 12:26 | Anti-militarism
Great news today as it was announced that BAE Systems will be closing Portsmouth, Govan and Scotstoun naval shipyards. Portsmouth will remain open until work is completed on the two un-needed aircraft carriers so there are still opportunities for local activists to disrupt the war machine.
Some people have focused on the job losses associated with these closures however this is something we are pleased about. These individuals chose to work for arms dealers so they deserve what they get
It's all about Karma people !

The UK defence industry represents 10% of UK manufacturing, employing over 300,000 people and generating over £35 billion per year to the UK economy.
It's also worth noting that many other companies provide equipment or services to the MoD including - Ford, Tesco, BOSE, BT, Renault, Rayban, Dunlop, Phillips and many others, are we to assume their staff are also subject to your 'karma' ?
Time to grow up.

What practicle suggestions do you have about replacing those jobs and the jobs of the other industries who are in part reliant on the defence industry. How are you going to replace that £35 billion per year ? Shall we close some hospitals or schools perhaps ?
