What happened at the Haloween spectacular demo

One of SmashEDO | 04.11.2013 15:28

As a number of people have asked us to clarify what the problems were at the recent Haloween spectacular we have released this brief statement.

The SmashEDO Haloween spectacular, part of the ongoing struggle to close EDO and other arms dealers was intended to be a non violent event that would make clear people's objection to having an arms dealer in their town.

The violent acts by three individuals were in no way affiliated with or approved by SmashEDO. Physical attacks on individuals are not the way we intend to conduct our campaign.

SmashEDO will issue a more detailed statement in due course when its contents are agreed.

This would be better hidden

I am familiar with the events here and I would suggest this is hidden because it could cause problems with the Court case that is bound to come. Smash EDO need to make clear what support they will give people who attend their demos because these guys have been left out to dry on their own and that's pretty shitty.

I suspect the article is NOT from Smash EDO

04.11.2013 17:24

I am not involved in Smash EDO but I checked their website the post above is NOT on it (despite a short report of the demo). The post above even says 'one of Smash EDO', and given Indymedias posting structure this could be anybody with access to the internet. The article implies (falsely I suspect) that it is a statement from the group when it is not.

unimportant
