Anarchist talk in Brighton tonight

C | 25.09.2013 09:02 | South Coast

Anarchist writer Paul Cudenec will be giving a talk at the Cowley Club in Brighton tonight, Wednesday September 25.

He will be exploring some of the themes in his book The Anarchist Revelation and explaining why anarchism is the philosophy that humankind urgently needs in order to find its way to a free and authentic future.
There’ll be plenty of time for questions and a discussion on the issues raised.
The talk is part of a series run by the Cowley Bookshop. It’s at 12 London Road, Brighton, and starts at 7pm. Entry is free and open to all.
Anarchist author Gabriel Kuhn has described The Anarchist Revelation as “an inspiring read” with the purpose of “equipping contemporary anarchism with a footing that is often neglected: the transformation not only of society’s structures but also of people’s souls”.
Peter Marshall, anarchist historian and writer, has described Cudenec’s work as “very readable and profoundly thoughtful”.

I had the misfortune to hear him speak once. Dull, tedious and full of the same old trite phrases that we have been hearing for years.

So what "old trite phrases" were they, then? Just so we all know.

nice trolling!

wow so even publicity for a talk now attracts trolling. the state of this website! the comments are becoming so crap that it's actually funny. thanks A for your comment, i'd love to hear more of your opinions, you sound like a really dynamic, interesting individual (with loads of experience in the activist scene of course).

Here's what I imagine you'd say:

A on marmite : horrible. i tasted it once, never again

A on shopping: i hate it

A on antifa: couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag

A on the anticapialist left: load of rubbish, a few good apples

A on the economy: it would be so much simpler if everyone listened to me

Agreeing

I have to say I must agree, he is a long way from being a good speaker and does have a tendancy to drone on for ages. There are a number of very good Anarchist speakers out there but Cudenec is not on them.
