Hail The New Dawn - Book on Blood & Honour

Liam O'Mogarlai | 18.09.2013 07:30 | Anti-racism | Culture | History

May 27th 1989. Hundreds of Nazi Boneheads from all over Europe gather for 'The Main Event', a Fascist musical Jamboree.

...except hundreds of them got no further than Hyde Parks' Speaker's Corner where they met a bloody end.

Were you there? Do you know anybody who was?

Do you know any ex-Skins from either side - or ones who felt they were stuck in the middle?

If anyone knows or is in contact with any ex-Fash from the late 1980's who might be up for being interviewed please get in touch  liamomogarlai@mail.com

These can be reformed or unrepenting, foot soldiers or generals.

I would particularly appreciate input from ...

* non-aligned Anarchists who were at Hyde park Corner but who were not - at that point anyway - part of AFA

* Someone for whom this was their first major political event

* Someone who shared social space (gigs, pubs) with Skins who went along thinking this would be a right laugh,,, and got a rude awakening

* Any of the DAM lads from this period

Just to be clear. The book I am researching will be an oral history of a quite specifc period/event - the campaign to Shut down Cutdown/the 'Main Event' in 1988/89.

It will be something along the lines of this  http://www.amazon.co.uk/Two-Sides-Hell-Vincent-Bramley/dp/184454821X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1378205761&sr=1-1&keywords=two sides of hell

I hope it will be possible to interview combatants from both sides (and from different agencies... Police, Labour Party councillors, Searchlight etc). Obviously access to the anti-fascist combatants is easy but I lost touch with the DAM people many years ago and I think it is also important that non-aligned Anarchists get their say too. Hence my appeal on here. Access to fash/ex-fash might prove a little more problematic too so if you know any , gimme a shout.

My intention is to give the participants free rein to express themselves and keep commentary to a minimum.

Who am I? I'm ex-Red Action
Thomas Mensforth esquire will be happy to vouch for my bona fides
