Judicial Lynching In The State Of Texas in the US

Abolition | 01.09.2013 20:53 | Repression | Social Struggles | London | World

Government murder continues in 7 US states

The state of Texas murders more people annually
than the 6 other US executing states combined...
and of course more than the 88% of the world's
countries not involved in the ancient barbarism
of prisoner slaughter. None of the queue of people who have gone to the Texas
guillotine is rich. Death Row is poverty row. Clemency in Texas is available
only to the rich. Mercy is for sale. Racism is a definite factor, with several times more blacks than whites on death row being sent to the death chamber.

Texas Corporations

AT&T which moved its national headquarters to Texas after twice being required by the US government to end its monopoly... gave executioner Rick Perry over 1 million dollars in his campaigns.

It is time for Texas based corporations such as ATT,
Clear Channel (C C Media) in which Mitt Romney has significant holdings,
Exxon, AT&T, Conoco Phillips, Marathon, Radio Shack,
J C Penney, Dell, Halliburton, Dean Foods, Southwest Airlines, Whole Foods Market
and Waste Management to use their financial
clout to end state murder. It is time for the Houston
Chronicle, Dallas Morning News and all Texas media as well.

John Grisham in his book The Confession which is
based on incidents from the lives of many executed
in Texas outlines the assembly line deaths of the innocent
and those who have committed crimes which occur
in Texas death chambers, the corruption of the
governors, senators, representatives, judges,
parole boards, sheriffs, police and prosecutors
who keep the Texas death industry going. Some judges
have closed their offices early to avoid appeals. Appeals
court judges like Roman emperors in the coliseum.
do not need to give reasons for their thumbs
down, their arrogant denial of compassion.

*

Juries composed entirely of white nominal Christians,
Southern Baptists, Pentecostals, Assembly of God etc.
have kept the death machine going. Meanwhile
presidents of countries and heads of international
religions making appeals to Governors Bush,
Perry and others have been ignored.

*

One of many innocents murdered in Texas
death chambers was Odell Barnes. Many
citizens of Canada, Mexico, Germany etc.
have not been allowed the right to contact
their consulates or embassies before being
illegally murdered. Other probable innocents
murdered include Carlos DeLuna, Ruben Cantu,
David Spence, Gary Graham, Claude Jones, Cameron Willingham and others.

Some Texas jails are over 120 degrees in
the summer Many prisoners have died in the heat.
Many prisoners have been subjected
to the torture of solitary confinement
year after year. The food and medical care are
often terrible. An atmosphere of punishment
rather than healing is endemic.

*
Groups like the American Bar Association report that the average execution costs
the state 2 million dollars. A prisoner who is not working in the
kitchen or library etc. costs the state an average 30 thousand dollars annually.
A prisoner has to live 66 years behind bars to equal the cost of 1 execution.

*

Whereas many murders are acted out in instantaneous hot passion (e.g. jealousy)
the judges of the Texas Criminal Court of Appeals commit cold premeditated murder
.... away from the crime scene, with their pens and computers as weapons.

*

Jesus prevented an execution in progress when he prevented the stoning of a woman.
There are many groups in Texas working for abolition of the death penalty.

*
Only 14% of US states are involved in government
murder.

*
As of August 30th 2013, the executing
states this year are Texas, Oklahoma, Florida,
Alabama, Georgia, Virginia and Ohio.
Ohio is the only northern state. All 7 executing
states have Republican governors, from Rick Perry of Texas
and Rick Scott of Florida
to Bob McDonnell of Virginia and John Kasich of Ohio.

Other corrupting influences in the state:

. a voter ID law requiring the poor, black, and Latino citizens to go as much as 250 miles round trip to register to vote ...

. cow slaughter
. oil industry bribes, pollution and pricegouging
. racism
. military spending in great excess

May Texas and the world be healed.
