Tell the Council *We just can't pay* - Cardiff Council must 1. Commit to NO Evictions 2.Reclassify Bedrooms 3.Stop the harrassment 4. Stand up for the vulnerable 5. Defend the disabled 6. Fight for our communities 7. Acknowledge that when it comes to a choice between your family eating or paying bedroom tax. There is no choice. 8. Stop doing the Tories dirty work.
ENUFF IS ENUFF! BASH THE BEDROOM TAX BBQ/PEOPLE'S PICNIC/COUNCIL LOBBY (Part 3)
Thursday 25 July, 3.30 PM, Outside Cardiff City Hall
Over 1000 tenants, 1 in 4 of those affected by the bedroom tax are now in rent arrears, most have never been in arrears ever. Cardiff Council admit they do not have enough smaller properties to rehouse the majority of people affected by the bedroom tax. So let's have an end to the false economy of spending money chasing people for money they don’t have.
People Power is winning. At our last lobby 9 councillors agreed to support our demand for no bedroom tax evictions, reclassification and for the council to actively campaign for 'axe the bedroom tax' taking the fight back to the Tories. Now we want the entire council to stand with the people not the government.
People Power looks like it has pushed the council to launch an investigation into reclassifying 'spare' rooms as not being bedrooms to help people evade the bedroom tax,
