EDL at The Harley in Sheffield

@HarleySheffield | 08.06.2013 19:46 | Anti-racism | Sheffield

Part of the, police facilitated, EDL pub crawl up West Street on Saturday 8th June 2013 made it to The Harley, Glossop Road, from where they hurled abuse, glasses and cans at anyone in range.

It's clear from the photos, including some not posted here that the EDL were being served drinks by The Harley, they tweeted:

"The venue was caught off guard, the police cleared our venue for us, and we are now closed until further notice."

And retweeted:

"@harleysheffield is one of the nicest, most welcoming places i've ever had the pleasure of going to a gig/eating/drinking. fuck the EDL man."

The EDL clearly got a better reception at other pubs in Sheffield, especially the Wetherspoon ones. If the EDL ever plan to return it would make sense to run a campaign in advance to encourage pubs to refuse entry to the EDL, after all who would want to drink in a pub that serves them?
