£140,000 to make 80 people homeless.

GS | 28.05.2013 10:32 | Free Spaces | Social Struggles

Lambeth Council continue their policy of social cleansing.

One one hand they are claiming that they have no choice but to cut jobs & services in these times of austerity.

Though it seems that they have an unlimited pile of cash to evict people putting empty buildings to good use. Locals were saying that the bailiff company was brought in from Wales at a cost of £140,000.

Once the empty the property is going straight into the private sector which will no doubt help to bump up rent and prices in the area. Despite dozens of plods being in attendance no one was arrested.

Two years.

Council were evicting (with our money) to appease property developers and clear the way for them.
