Fascists in Nottingham this Saturday

Members of the EDL (the English Defence League) are attempting to arrange an unofficial "demonstration" tomorrow (Saturday) at 1pm on the market Square.

Muslims in the area have been urged to refrain from entering the city centre by Mosques because of a high chance of violent confrontations.

Similar attacks have been occurring up and down the country since Wednesday's event in London.

This information is public and has been taken from the social media site Facebook.

Please spread the word that the EDL may be meeting tomorrow!

(Please note that there will be another Demo taking place on the market square against Monsanto @ 2pm....)

Please join us, bring banner making materials, noise makers and energy to let them know that their fascism will not be tolerated and people will not be intimidated!

a good turnout by anti-fascists (anarcho, unalligned and trot) and the fucking cowards didn't evenmake themselves known. In 2010, the last time the edl came to town, they were driven off by the local youth, some as young as 12. They should have got the message then - if they want to peddle hate they should fuck off back to codnor

There were candles on the leftlion for Lee Rigby& all victims of terror wars, supported by occupy nottingham etc+ a demo about monsanto& genetically modified"farming". EDL didnt turn up, they had a preplanned event in Newcastle. The edl werent really chased out last time in nottingham, there were skirmishes, on st james st off mkt sq& the bank pub. The British armed forces were generally never happy about the iraq invasion&many who join just to Get& job many because they want to help preserve a fairer army, that world war2veterans etc believe in. Abu hamza needs shutting in a physciatric ward like nick griffin,hamza has been deported to the USA to face trial,was he seemingly treated with kid gloves because of our
EU human rights laws or because his allies can be a useful opposition asset for deaiing with the likes of Gadaffi or Assad in Syria?, either way Its a messed up SNAFU situ.
