Wise Women Gather to Nurture Connections

The Wise Woman Weekend is an annual festival for women presented by Wise Woman Ireland, that celebrates the feminine spirit. Women of all ages are welcome to join us as we celebrate the beginning of summer. Wise Woman Ireland a not-for-profit organisation. All the facilitators and organisers give their time and efforts as volunteers, out of a wish to make this chance to explore the sacred feminine available to any woman, regardless of her financial circumstances.

After Friday night’s opening ceremony, there is a choice of nine workshops to participate in over Saturday and Sunday. Saturday evening hosts the “Wild Woman Open Mic” night. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed, and participants are invited to dress up and “come as the goddess you are!”. On Sunday afternoon there is a talk by a wise woman elder, followed by the closing ceremony.

The theme of this year’s festival, which is the ninth Wise Woman Weekend, is “Nurturing Connection”, and all the workshops reflect this. The workshops include a mix of movement, meditation, massage, creativity and imagination to help us nurture our connections to our inner selves, our relationships, families, communities and to the earth itself.

Until this year the Wise Woman Weekend has taken place in the Sligo/Leitrim area. Women came from all over Ireland to share their wisdom and laughter at these events. Now, in response to feedback from past participants that they’d like to see the Wise Woman Weekend visit all the provinces, this year we have lifted our roots and are making our way to Gurteen College, near Rosscrea in Co Tipperary. This is a first step in bringing the Wise Woman effect to all corners of the country.

At Gurteen College, the event is a fully residential weekend, with meals, accommodation and participation all included in the price of €185. However, we also welcome local women as day visitors. Contact us for details:  info@wisewomanireland.org or phone Susie at 087 9961031.
