A UK nuclear warhead convoy tavelled through Oxfordshire on Tuesday 14th May 2013 from Burghfield Atomicb Weapon Establishment (AWE) near Reading.

Local nukewatchers tracked a UK nuclear warhead convoy on Tuesday 14th May 2013 as it travelled past Didcot, Abingdon, Oxford, Bicester and Banbury today. It was travelling from Burghfield Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) near Reading northwards through Oxfordshire, using the A43 and M40 roads. It did not stop at MOD Bicester or MOD Kineton in Warwickshire today, which are often places the convoy calls at for short breaks.

The convoy returned to Burghfield AWE that evening.

There are serious questions about the safety of transporting the most deadly cargo on our roads in armed convoys in heavy traffic next to our homes, schools and workplaces.
