300,000 are expected to attend the carnival against capitalism in central London on June the 9th as tens of thousands of European anti-capitalist intend to travel to London for the event. That will make it the biggest anti-capitalism protest since the anti-G8 summit protest of July 2001 in Genoa in Italy

What a stupid attempt at self promotion and trying to whip up a media frenzy. I'd be surprised if you needed more than 2 hands to count the number of Greek anarchists that will be over for this.

Barely anyone I know is going, and publicity has been shit, and it's been badly planned. I predict a damp squib of a event, with some minor pointless clashes and scuffles and lots of attempts at crap actions.

There have been several of these daft, infantile postings recently, featuring clumsy 'activist' propaganda. It reminds me of some years back in the run up to a summit in Dublin, when the Irish edition of the Sun ran with the headline 'WE'll gas Bertie' (referring to then taoiseach Bertie Ahern) and went on to claim a 'sinister Anarchist' group planned to gas 10,000 people at the summit ( http://www.indymedia.ie/article/64558 ) . Whether or not it is the case here, lazy right wing journos can just create their own sources in order to source their crappy articles and stir up public fear; consequences of which are that protest turnouts are lower and the public expects and accepts that the police are going to be heavy handed.

Hundreds of thousands of pissed-off working class people from all over Europe will be attending the Carnival against Capitalism at least two days before it even begins and will make Occupy London look like a vicar's tea party. Such diamond geezers and lasses won't take any more shit and austerity from the financial elite or the bankers or the state and will be ready to ruck the Bill on this one. Even as I write, the vibrations from the trampling feet of the proletatian multitudes, are making my laptop screen woblle slightly.

The clue that points most to this being posted by a cop or journo is the fact that they got the date wrong - thus hyping up the event for their own purposes without serving any purpose as publicity for the event, because anyone who sees this will end up turning up on the wrong bloody day!
