Theresa May yesterday proposed a new law stating police killers should be sentenced to whole life sentence yet no police officer has been held accountable for the more than 333 deaths recorded within police custody since 1999.

Interesting that May

wants life-to-mean-life sentences for 'killing' a police officer. Her words are carefully chosen. Not only deliberate murder, but unlawful killing, manslaughter, etc. So don't defend yourself when attacked by the police, or you could spent the rest of your life in jail. The cops know this, so will be ever more callous in their treatment of members of the public. Sick.

Theresa May is a politician. Her press office has released this ridiculous statement about the police and the law in order to grease her address at the police AGM which is taking place now. So its just the May PR office trying to diminish the yearly bad reaction that all home secretaries get from the police federation at their conference. May doesn't want to be heckled and doesn't want to make bad headlines because, as we all know, modern politicians are far too weak to actually do what is in the public interest, choosing instead to play reactionaries to the real government in the UK, the British media.

This won't enter law because nobody in their right mind would allow the law to differentiate between the life of a cop and the life of the ordinary Joe public. One is not anymore important than the other.

May is just appealing to the natural authoritarianism of the modern police and giving them something to yap about in the police canteen.

The max term of "life" is determined as a mean of 30 tears. The words of May are pointless drivel as she has no power to change statetury legal definitions, thats the job of law lords and trust me she is no friend of theirs.

As to the police useing this to get tough on people......
So they are encorageing people to kill them...er call me fancifull but your insane, utterly insane.

Honestly do you honestly think a cop wants to be killed just to spite YOU,

"go on sonny shoot me so I can die, then you will be sorry, we will get the CPS to balls up an case of murder and get it knocked down to manslaughter then you will only do half tarrif and then with a ambulance chacer lawyer claiming it would ruin you uni course you would be out on licence in a year......yeah that will learn you"
