Sussex Police to deploy armoured vechicles in March For England operation

Anon | 21.04.2013 00:12 | Anti-militarism | Policing | Terror War | South Coast

Armoured cars spotted in Brighton in advance of March For England.

First used in Northern Ireland, then in Iraq, now in Sussex, the Land Rover "Snatch" has been converted for use in England in the wake of the 20111 riots. One of these was seen patrolling Brighton Saturday evening in advance of the Match For England on Sunday. Painted olive green, these military vehicles are now going to be standard issue in England.

To quote from their website "Designed with the 'shock and awe' effect in mind they are a clear statement that we have the capability and intent to swiftly move into the heart of any disorder and remove the ringleaders."

Plenty of police vehicles get stuck in traffic, out-run by a fast-moving crowd

Wrong.

This is just some crappy made up press release from a security contractor.

IMC is not used for product placement or advertising. These vehicles have not been supplied to Avon and Somerset police as they claim and they are not being deployed at the pathetically named March for England demonstration.

REMOVE.

cheap motors?

i have seen these vehicles on sale at Hurst's in St Mary Bourne (scrap dealers). They can't give them away! There is no market for heavy 30+ year old gas guzzlers. I cant believe that any police force would be stupid enough to 'invest' in one of these, let alone a fleet of them. Only a total fool would sign off a deal to purchase one of these antiques in order to police in the 21st century.

Has Mr Port had a hand in this? Is this a final act of revenge??

Total policing

I originally posted this Saturday evening after I spotted it near Patcham, but I didn't see any on the day. Having said that, it looks like the cops went for a "total policing" approach, which I am sure we will see more of, with the 2011 riots beig used as an excuse to "keep order". It seems that the police probably use events like MFE to train for the Coming Insurrection.
