If you have to defend yourself with the line, "I have black friends!" YOU ARE RACIST.
If you turn on BET and immediately ask something along the lines of "Why are black people like that?" YOU ARE RACIST.
If you grip more tightly on your purse or wallet when you see a colored kid on the subway YOU ARE RACIST.
If you refuse a colored homeless man or woman money under the assumption that they will immediately use it to buy drugs YOU ARE RACIST.
If you think that Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson are the voices of the black people YOU ARE RACIST.
If you believe that black people can ever be represented by one or two voices YOU ARE RACIST.
If you see a black woman with two kids in the supermarket and think that she probably is on welfare and the father ran off a long time ago because he's a deadbeat YOU ARE RACIST.
If you are convinced that people of color can bring themselves up "if they'd only try harder" YOU ARE RACIST.
If you wish that blacks and Latinos be more like those "wonderful, hard-working, and quiet" Asians YOU ARE RACIST.
If you see an Asian kid and think that he's on his way to Harvard YOU ARE RACIST.
If you ask an Asian for help in math before you ask a black or a Latino YOU ARE RACIST.
If you have ever asked "Why do blacks get their own teevee network?" YOU ARE RACIST.
If you think that vigilantism against Mexicans crossing the border is justified YOU ARE RACIST.
If you have ever asked "Why do blacks get to say 'nigger'?" YOU ARE RACIST.
If you have ever asked "Why do Latinos get to say 'wetback'?" YOU ARE RACIST.
If you believe that the only music blacks and Latinos have ever pioneered is rap/hip hop YOU ARE RACIST.
If you laugh at the idea of a black punk rocker YOU ARE RACIST.
If you have ever called a kid a wigger YOU ARE RACIST.
If it makes you angry that Dave Chappelle can say "nigger" and you can't YOU ARE RACIST.
If you honestly believe that immigrants are bringing your country down YOU ARE RACIST.
If you walk into a convenience store and expect to see an Indian or a Sikh YOU ARE RACIST.
If you are uncomfortable with the concept of a black Jesus YOU ARE RACIST.
If you think that I'm just a paranoid little black girl who leans on this crutch of racism, and refuses to be held accountable for anything, not only are you ignorant, not only are you wrong, YOU ARE RACIST.
