Police planning to kettle anti Thatcher party at Trafalgar Square

Insider at Scotland Yard | 11.04.2013 10:55

I am an insider at Scotland Yard and know of plans by the Metropolitan police to kettle people attending the anti-Thatcher party at Trafalgar Square on Saturday. So if you want to party, party but do not hold your party in Trafalgar Square itself, or you will get kettled and held for several hours.

There are also plans to stop and search everyone entering and leaving Trafalgar Square on Saturday evening as well when the party is due to start. Here is a Met police press release:

"Inorder to prevent disorder we plan to surround Trafalgar Square with officers and search those entering and leaving the area on Saturday the 13th of April. If any disorder how ever minor breaks out within the Square, it will be placed in lockdown with no one allowed to enter or leave for several hours."
