ActionAWE (Atomic Weapons Eradication) team closed Tadley gate at Aldermaston Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) on Wednesday 10th April afternoon as part of the year-long campaign against the site to stop Trident replacement.
A team of 8 people closed Tadley gate at Aldermaston AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment) this afternoon. They were from Reading, Oxford CND, Croughton and Hampshire.
The team decided to do this as part of the year-long action against Aldermaston AWE - known as ActionAWE - Action Atomic Weapons ERADICATION to stop Trident replacement. Please look at the excellent ActionAWE website for more photos, videos, information and a calendar of events for the next year - www.ActionAWE.org
The team, dressed in white suits, held a large ActionAWE banner in front of the gate, and also lay 'dead' in front of the banner on the roadway during the evening end of work shift. They shut the gate for 40 minutes, took many photos and videos and then left. There were no arrests. Eventually the MOD police shut the gate, directed the traffic through another gate, and stationed more MOD police at other gates.
Looking forward to more actions from many groups over the next year.

A very telling reminder of the lack of support your campaign has.
