Looking to the future

Indymedia uk is really in trouble now. Without the feeds from Scotland and Bristol the newswire would be receiving nearly nothing most days.

Looks like people are voting with their feet

Perhaps getting rid of ftp who is involved with a hate site would be a good start in saving the newswire or are the other mods happy to work with a Holocaust denier and antisemite ?

I don't know

who ftp is but the site is as busy and diverse as ever.

Troll alert

Bristol IMC

You are right about the Bristol IMC being the major contributor to the UK scene right now. A firm commitment to the Principles of Unity and no platform for racist fuckwits who justify antisemitism as anti zionism has seen the BINDY newswire grow and grow since the period of the infamous Indyuk 'fork' (ie Indy uk newswire stolen by Chris).

check it out and if your news is West Country related why not post directly there and avoid this site altogether ?

Who is 'ftp'

02.04.2013 15:11

FTP is the principle Indymedia UK moderator and the founder and contributor to an anti Jewish hate site where Holocaust denial and other articles of an anti-Semitic nature and posted daily.

His involvement with Indymedia is a disgrace for anybody that beleives in no platform for racists however the other Indymedia UK mods are either too scared, too stupid or too lazy to do anything about it.

I think you are confused

"the site is as busy and diverse as ever."

Only because Indy UK takes the feeds from the other Indy sites because very few people still post here directly. Sites that are run by collectives the UK people felt they didn't need when they stole the indymedia uk URL and blocked out everyone else.

Posters are choosing to post on the local sites which Indymedia then 'grabs' and displays as though they are UK articles.

The fork

The 'fork', really the split but let's indulge them was the beginning of the end for Indymedia in the UK. Too many experienced mods were pushed out leaving only the nutters left.
