You think people will support a campaign that opposes underused social housing being blocked when there is a shortage of properties right now. This country has a housing crises and bedrooms are being blocked by those too selfish to consider others.

Yeah, selfish people like foster-carers, folk who have split from (or been left by) their partners but still want to have their children be able to sleep over in their home, elderly people, people with disabilities, people with adult children who still need their support, all those selfish people...

Not at all like the owners of property lying empty, the owners of more than one property, the ones not paying taxes, those selfless lovely people you like to vote for, huh.

Why the bedroom tax is wrong

14.03.2013 10:39

@742

There is a shortage of one bedroom properties so many of those who are impacted by the bedroom tax have no ability to move out.

Some of those affected by the bedroom tax would lose their support network if they were forced to move out, and blind people would have to learn to navigate a new area.

Many people need this spare bedroom, for example self employed people on HB and disabled people who need their carers to stay.

Meanwhile hundreds of thousands of homes are empty across the UK.

Instead of penalising people with a spare bedroom (which is often needed by self employed people on HB to use as an office, or for the carers of disabled people to stay over, for example) all homes empty for over two years should be nationalised and all homes empty for between one and two years taxed at 150%.

I don't see why your views make you an agent of the state though.
