To the poster: thanks for this info, it's very much appreciated, let's all help spread it as widely as possible and let the venue, other bands, and all decent punks know what this band represents. If the band doesn't pull out the gig should be picketed.

If you still have a spark of decency in you, why not quit your job and do something like useful like write a full expose of UKBA methods, go on a speaking tour grassing up your former fascist colleagues, etc.?

I dont know the background to this but I do believe that having a problem with immigrants does make you right wing, actually.

And when someone is treating other people as badly as the UKBA treat people, I think those involved in this treatment and those who defend them should expect some criticism. If you actually bother to learn the history of why people immigrate then maybe you will not have a problem with immigrants.

And re this band coming to play here- I'm glad I now know what this dude's son does. How dare he use the trappings of radical politics to promote his band when he defends his son's actions. Gagz- I wonder if you ever really got the politics you pretend to support?

I used to be a No Choice fan and when I learnt Gagz's son worked at UKBA I was shocked but didn't blame Gagz and supported him. Then I realised that Gagz was defending his son's actions. His son does perhaps the most nasty, brutal and immoral job you can do in the UK. I can't think of worse. I dont understand how Gagz can defend his son. Even if he said that he loves his son but condems what he does, I could understand that but he has actually tried to defend his son's job. How can he do this. He has done No Borders benefits for fucks sake. Can't listen to them now.

the family's asylum claim has nothing to do with the recent uprisings or anything related to it, they are fleeing direct oppression from family members connected with the government and judicial system... they face torture and honour killings. Their removal and deportation was completed before court cases were completed and was carried out with particular frenzy by the UKBA as it's such a high profile case.

With regards to No Choice, members of the band (and not Gagz) have been heard to say "well they shouldn't have lied when they entered the country", "Nicky is not a nazi he has good politics" and "he does good work for the UKBA too, he doesn't just deport people" amongst other things. Like they've never lied to authority... something I feel is a moral obligation. As for Gagz, by all accounts he has defended not just his son, but his son's actions too.

How you feel about this information and how you act is up to you as an individual... But in my opinion you can't pick and choose the faces of facism that you are against and support other faces just because of a family link. I guess that given his (assumed?) politics, Gagz has failed to impart a sense of morality to his son and as such his own are called into question. Antifa? Or benefit gigs to promote your band?

This article and some of the comments in it are completely false! It seems crazy to have to state this but No choice's politics lay on the left. We are in No way "pro ukba" and Gagz has NO history of domestic violence.

It seems there is a small group of people trying to tarnish our name (annonimously from behind a computer) and everything this band has stood for for the last 30 years. if you look through the crowd at a no choice gig chances are you'll see plenty of prominent members of cardiff anti fa supporting the band and what we stand for. This whole thing started a few months ago and since then loads of people have had their names dragged through the dirt and its then left to them and us to try and clear our names.

In short this is a load of bullshit. Read through some of our lyrics and you should get a good idea where we're coming from

We're still playing the gig as we feel we haven't done anything wrong and hopefully it'll be a chance for us to put this to rest. If you feel the need to ask us about this, please do instead of hating on us from afar.

Yes I have listened to your lyrics. That is why I used to like you and why many people are so pissed off with discovering what Nicky does and hearing Gagz try to defend him. You may have the right on lyrics but some of the band's politics stink. Do you not get it? Do you not get that immigration controls are inherantly racist? Do you not get that people migrate because of capitalism and because they are suffering from the legacy of imperialism? That immigration controls have not always existed and are a social and political construct built for the benefit of the powerful, to protect their priviledges?

Apart from that, Nicky and all at UKBA: you are all sick bastards, despite any 'good work' you think you do. Whatever help you feel you have given to migrants who are forced to drag themselves through the immigration system, there are thousands of other people whose lives you have destroyed. You do not deserve to be able to sleep at night.

No Choice are and always have been a socialist, anti racist band. Because my son took up a job at ukba, anarchists labelled him a right wing thug, a nazi and there were threats to glass him and slash him, target his bands gigs etc and two anarchists were hanging around his flat trying to frighten his girlfriend ..big men eh ? I told two spineless "coffee house" anarchists that started this on the internet and revelled in the following hate campaign against my son that if anything happened to him, i would hold them responsible and i would come and see them......i dont give a fuck what you read into that, as any other father in this position wouldnt either. This week i have spoken to two good freinds, both in prominent left wing/ anarcho bands and they told me they now find Indymedia cannot be taken serious when absolute lies are claimed to be "the truth ??? The sad part about this is that i used to have time for Indymedia, being left of centre it brought to my attention important issues and causes i followed. The sadder part is their "get out of jail" jargon as regards to anonymous posters and how they dont police the posts but leave these posts up anyway ?? hoping that if you throw enough bullshit, some may stick ! Not one person in No Choice has a racist agenda and believe it or not neither has my son. The post about me glassing someone and having a history of domestic violence really is poor, i was glassed in 1980 and was lucky to live and wouldnt dream of ever using a glass to attack someone. The domestic violence ?? never in my life have i resorted to this,. So, have you bothered to check the guidelines and contact the mods? Perhaps you've donated shed-loads of money so that they can employ someone to moderate the posts, and this is why you're irate?

The word 'police' is a rather unfortunate choice of words in relation to the site, but as you can't see the problem with your son mounting dawn raids on families as part of the racist immigration sytem, its hardly surprising that you come across as an authoritarian ranter.

I think the fact that someone is posting as 'Drew Wade' on here highlights how deceitful and low some people are being. What the fuck is driving this person to do this?! It's bloody weird and also really pathetic.
