Spain: Case against anarchist Piotr Silajev dropped!

rusafa | 31.01.2013 18:25 | Repression

The case against the Russian anarchist and writer Piotr Silajev has been dropped by the Spanish “Audiencia Nacional”, a special court that focuses on organized crime and terrorism. The decision was made in Madrid on the 28th of January 2013.

Piotr is now free to continue his life in Finland where he has been living since 2011. He received a political asylum in the country in April 2012.
Spanish officials wanted to return Piotr back to Russia to stand on trial for his role in the protests in the Khimky area, close to Moscow, against the planned building of a highway.
Piotr had been stuck in Spain since his arrest in August 2012.
The solidarity group of Barcelona wants to thank everyone who helped us in spreading information about the case and expressed their solidarity with Piotr! For the Compañerxs in all parts of the Spanish state, France, Italy, Switzerland, Finland, Mexico and Chile we are forever thankful for your support and for having our friend on the street again!

Until all are free!
Long live anarchy!
