Skegness demo attracts 30 fascists

anon@indymedia.org (EMAF) | 13.01.2013 12:55

Despite not managing to attract as many people as the even more lunatic National Front did in September, the BNP are hailing their halal demo in Skegness as a success. Their photo depicts just under 30 fascists outside a warehouse in the middle of nowhere.

Unfortunately, the local paper, the Skegness Standard, is helping them along by giving their efforts a headline article. Perhaps this is because a few days ago they decided to publish a letter from an equally unreliable source, the owner of the slaughterhouse, who claimed the BNP’s publicity was helping him find trade. This is probably some hack’s idea of “balance” although of course no anti-fascists or genuine animal rights activists have been quoted.

According to the branch organiser Robert Ashton, the meet-up was intended “to send a coherent message to the community regarding the party’s campaign against ritually slaughtered animals”, something he seems unable to do:

The photograph will document our visit and show we were here at the abattoir in Skegness, it shows we are together of this issue

…whatever that means. Maybe that they don’t agree on much else?

However pathetic their demo, it is a major success for the BNP that they were able to semi-publicly organise a demonstration and leafleting session unopposed. In the absence of a non-racist animal rights campaign, the BNP are being able to lead the campaign against the slaughterhouse. In the absence of an organised local anti-fascist movement, they are able to take their poisonous message to the streets freely.

The branch say the party will be back for another demo in Feb or March to “gain strength for its party locally”. Let’s hope that next time they do not have such an easy ride.

Ain't democracy a bitch Sparty?

A legal political party organises a legal, non-violent demonstration on an issue which they feel is important. And if it's not really important, then where on earth could they have learnt about the power of agit prop? In a democracy that is their right. Only fascists (of the left) would seek to disrupt and muzzle such activities through violence and intimidation.

What's not to like?

Democracy

Remind me which form of democracy fascists are in favour of? I seem to remember that Mr Hitler's National Socialists were a perfectly legal party too.

so nobody opposed them? even having 30 people is still dangerous and enough for the fascists to achieve publicity.

Fascists or not, the issue of animal abuse made it to the front page of a local paper! No mean feat. No need for animal rights groups to fight over territory on this occasion. No need to be associated with the BNP either. If some animal abusers and some fascists decide to clash over how they describe their mutual exploitation, abuse, torture, and slaughter of other mammals, then why intervene ? These people all arrange the deaths of children, so they can swallow their flesh.

There will be plenty of letters to that local paper about the subect, so the obvious question " What about the fascism?" can be raised.

no messages of compassion, no go veggie or vegan banners just a load of twisted sour old wankers running a racist hate campaign. Pretty obvious to anyone, especially to the public who are well versed in what a compassionate protest for the animals looks like.

BNP fight amongst themselves after Skeggy

It seems that the BNP had a big punch up after the demo with a number of members leaving the party in disgust at mismanagement and the poor turnout. Find out more here:  http://emaf.noblogs.org/post/2013/01/14/bnp-fight-amongst-themselves-in-skegness/
