New Years Eve: International Anti-Prison Demos & Actions

A | 06.12.2012 07:46 | Repression | Social Struggles

New-years-eve to the prisons!
Everywhere to the deportation and detention centers!

Noise demonstrations in front of prisons are an ongoing tradition at many places in this world to remember those who are detained by the state. A way to showing solidarity with the people who are imprisoned. In front of prisons and deportation centers, where people are imprisoned who face deportation, who have the wrong or no papers. We come together to break the loneliness and isolation.

This prisonsystem is not reformable because it´s wrong from its whole existence. Here and everywhere.

It doesn’t form “better people” or help to solve social conflicts. The ruling system of competition and inequity detains people and deport them.
On the one hand to get rid of everything “problematic”, on the other hand to frighten those who search desperate for freedom.

Whether humans are imprisoned because of stealing or destroying private property, dodged the fare or flee in fear of prosecution in their homecountry – everything bases on the same cacti: the existing world, defined by the ruling norms telling us what´s wrong and right, what has to be protected and what to be punished.

Laws and rules that where made by a few and under which everyone has to knuckle down. This logic of penalty and detention has to be destroyed.
For us the destruction of all prisons is only possible in a process which overthrows the ruling condition, to create a world without exploitation an oppression.

Wherever you are, meet on new year’s eve at the prisons, to be loud and and to give the idea of a free world without domination an expression in the streets.
We want to use our solidarity and mutual aid to tear down the walls stone by stone.
We want a world without walls and borders.
We will fight together:
until everyone is free!

obviously not everyone in prison is there for the reasons you list. some are there for serious crimes against fellow humans (and/or other animals). what do you wish should happen to these people eg murderers, rapists, etc?

lalala

What will you say to women who've been raped? That you in solidarity with their rapist who's in prison?

Prisons and punishment have been around a LOT longer than some pimped up little toerag dressed in black and waving a flag.

It exists because it works.

A jumped up anarchist dressed in black waving a crappy flag from 300m is zero threat. Full stop. Its embarassing how futile and useless this is. Why not just sit there and ball your eyes out?

useless

solidarity with prisoners?

If you find the idea repulsive, then you are probably on the wrong site.

Or a screw.

Yes some prisoners have been violent - but the vast majority haven't.

tear down the prison walls

anarchy has been around far longer than prisons
before the 19th century prison industry, before industry, before states, before civilisations, there were people who tried to live without masters
and we will still be here after you've torn and blasted your current civilisation to pieces
