MORE ON THE CURRENT SITUATION IN GAZA

Peace activist Gershon Baskin, the Israeli co-director of the Israel Palestine Center for Research and Information, has written:

"The Israeli decision to kill Ahmed Jaabri was total insanity. Jaabri was behind enforcing all of the recent ceasefire agreements. He sent his troops out to stop the rockets and was prepared to reach a long term ceasefire. Jaabri was also the main interlocutor of the Egyptian intelligence service in reaching ceasefire understandings. Now who are they supposed to talk to? Who can expect the Egyptians to continue to mitigate our relationship with Gaza? Now the government and people of Israel will face a massive barrage of rockets and they bought the entrance card to Cast Lead II. God help us all."

If you want to "stop the war", persuade Hamas and all the other terrorist groups infesting Gaza and the Sinai to immediately and unconditionally stop launching rockets (crap or otherwise) at Israel, laying explosives on the border, digging tunnels to abduct soldiers etc. etc.

Thank you for posting that. It is clear the Israeli's are working very hard to engineer this conflict and cause a sufficient number of deaths to whatever political end they are working toward. This is inline with totalitarianism which is pretty much what we expect of them.

The Israeli military state is clearly a menace. Anything it identifies with peace it will immediately attempt to destroy.

This should form the basis of all negotiations between Israel and other nations around the world.

Are any these demos going to protest against the rocket attack against Israel? Something of the region of 400 have been fired from Gaza into Israel. It seems that when it comes to protesting warcrimes jews don't matter. It doesn't matter that jews are under continous rocket attack, with no Palestian or antiwar activist critising the use of a weapon that deliberately targets civilians. Rockets are not a weapon of resistance they are indescriminate weapons of mass destruction.
Better that the activists protest the use of rockets, for without rocket attacks Israel wouldn't have an excuse to blow up rocket sites and ammo dumbs, which end up with the killing of civilians.

who are orchestrating rocket attacks. I dont agree with rocket attacks& targetted assinations, but was Ahmed Jaabri really trying to stop the rockets?,please put up some proof. I wouldnt put it past, Netanyahu to do something this messed up, the wife of General Rabin the israeli leader assassinated by a right wing isreali called Netanyahu a nightmare for the region.

What about demos against the constant rocket attacks against israel. Hundreds have been launched from Gaza, usually from within towns and cities. And nobody wants to include this in their antiwar narrative.
