On the night of the 7th November 2012, unknown activists superglued the locks of Barnardo's shop in Cardiff and left a message to protest against the cooperation of Barnardo s with Cedars detention who are not even refraining from locking up children in their detention center.
The action was probably part of the action day against Barnardo s that was held today in different places all over UK.

staff locked out!

It only took the presence of a lone protestor outside the Head Office of Barnardo's in Barkingside for them to lock the front doors. Staff were forced to take the back entrance all afternoon as they feared another office invasion by hordes, possibly hidden in the bushes. Police were also called, though when plod saw it was one harmless person waving a couple of banners, they left 3 community officers on site instead, guarding the entrance.
Of personal satisfaction, was the arrival at the front entrance of the same hatchet-faced woman who'd lied to protestors on a previous visit. She was furious at not being able to get in and had to bang repeatedly on the doors to be let inside. Some really good and positive conversations with passers-by and horns sounded by motorists.

Well done Cardiff and everyone else who took action, e-mailed, tweeted or phoned Barnardo's.
