I notice that demo was made up of the usual middle class protesters from Henley, Hampstead and Primrose Hill. People for whom the cuts wont make any difference anyway. Doesn't Charlotte look dashing in that makeup and look at Rupert waving wear that bandana and waving that black flag.
I suppose all those 'middle class' members of trade unions just don't cut it with you. You sound like either a right-wing troll or cop paid to slag off anyone who gets off their arse to oppose the Con-Dems? What did you do yesterday workingclasshero?
Tax justice? How can you demand money from people with threats of violence, justly? The only justice can be free choice in what "essential" goods and services you buy and what charities you support. Tax is theft. Pure and simple! Don't forget the rich get rich on our tax money. No one bails out bankers by choice with their own money. No one buys nuclear missiles and war plains by choice with their own money. The tax system funds and protects all that is wrong with society. Yes sure it funds some good stuff as well, but the good stuff could equally well be funded by free choice, the bad stuff could not.
@Working class hero - click on the first photo to enlarge it (it's a montage of 3 consecutive shots of the march, photographed, from roughly the same position, as it progresses along)
Tell us now, which parts of the words Communication Workers (ie - posties) Midland Region, CWU Crewe & Leeds, Springfield Fuels, National Union of Rail, Maritime & Transport Workers, Tilbury Dockers etc are you too thick to read?! Alot of dockers and lorry drivers live in Hampstead and Henley do they, moron?!
Half dozen black bloc (Half a dozen being six)? You obviously never seen them. There were at least one hundred and out of them, they were all solidly working-class from areas like the remaining working-class areas of the East End of London (Plus South and North London too), the North East, Kendal, Glasgow, Essex, Liverpool and Manchester etc. You obviously never seen them or else you would have known otherwise. I suggest you look at the Demotix photos of the black bloc and you will see the numbers were well above "half a dozen".
Besides, just because someone is well spoken and knows how to speak politely and with correct grammar etc. does that mean that they are not working-class? Are working-class people like myself not capable of stringing a coherent sentence together? Or do you have the vision that we are all uneducated and docile?
Learn to read mate. The comment didn't say there were only 6 black-bloc, the bloke (?) said s/he personally SPOKE to 6 black-bloc - your opinion will be more convincing if you bother to read the statements you're criticising
