During the Saturday peak shopping time between 12:30 and 15:30, activists from Leicester Animal Rights offered an alternative to McBurgerCulture to shoppers in the form of vegan sweet and savoury snacks sourced from local independent health food shop "Current Affairs" all served with a side order of information leaflets. October the 16th is officially the International Day of Action Against McDonald's, originally launched by London Greenpeace back in 1985 and now attracting support from across the spectrum of positive movements, from animal rights to worker's rights, from anti climate change to anti-capitalism.

To find out what you can do to help with this and many other campaigns, why not stop by a planning meeting of your local animal rights group.
