Tar Sands Action network | 19.10.2012 14:49 | Tar Sands

Albian Sands owned by Shell Canada, Chevron, and Marathon Oil Corp is attempting to bribe the indigenous peoples of Alberta to get their acceptance of increased production in the area. If we are stop all Tar Sands production then legal action must be used to prevent these bribes being allowed.

Details are

Yellowhead Tribal Development Foundation
Three new schools, four medical centres, a gymnasium, funding for drug abuse scheme

Athabasca Tribal Council Limited
Two new schools, refurbishment of current school, scholarships for tribal children

Fort McKay First Nation
Six new schools, eight medical centres, two community buildings.

Numerous letters to the Premier of Alberta, Alison Redford have been ignored with only one brief note saying that these are not bribes.
