Mass "peaceful" action against cuts, Saturday October 20th central London.

coalition of resistance | 15.10.2012 11:11

There will be a mass peaceful action on Saturday the 20th of October in central London during the TUC mass demonstration against cuts. Meet at 4pm at Trafalgar Square.

Spread the word, everyone to meet at Trafalgar Square at 4pm Saturday the 20th of October for a mass peaceful action against the government cuts. Instead of standing around listening to boring speeches in Hyde Park after the march head straight for Trafalgar Square to join thousands of others. We have chosen the time of 4pm to allow most people to take part in the official TUC march first to Hyde Park, then head off towards the square.

Do bring: guitars, sound systems, drums, banners, food to share, carnival masks, coloured chalk.
Do not bring: alcohol, glass bottles, black block clothing, spray paint.

We must stress this action is intended to be totally peaceful so please do not turn up in black block clothing or bring anything that can be considered a weapon. We don't want to give the riot cops any reason to move in.

We ar not all Troksyists

We are not all Troksyists but people from a broad range of backgrounds. Some of us are anarchists too. Don't jump to conclusions about who or what we are. The riots at last years TUC anti-cuts might have looked spectaclur but they did absolutely nothing to reverse government cuts. All they did was get people arrested and cause damage to central London which made anti-cuts activists look like a bunch of hooligans. We want people to support us not alienate people.

At least they are doing something!

Everyone moans about the TUC A to B marches and having to stand around listening to boring speeches and the fact that this achieves nothing, but at least these people are doing something different and trying to make a difference. No one is saying the black block cannot turn up to the main TUC march or organise an action of their own. If you want a more militant action go and join the black black contingent on the march. This is an independent event for anyone who wants to do more than just march from A to B but doesn't want to risk arrest or cause any damage.
